RED DEER – Through the final day of round robin action, Alberta Grey and Alberta Black sit atop the standings and will play for the 2022 Alberta Cup on Sunday.
Grey began the day in first place and would stay as the top seed with a 6-3 win over Alberta Blue in the final game of the day. Alberta Black secured their spot in the final with a 7-2 victory over Alberta Red. Both teams went undefeated in the round robin with Alberta Grey sporting a 3-0-1-0 record and Alberta Black with a 2-0-2-0 record. During the first day of the Alberta Cup, the two teams played to a 3-3 draw.
In the first game of the day, Alberta Green secured their first win with a 3-2 victory over Alberta Yellow.
The final day of the tournament will feature Alberta Blue taking on Alberta Red in the fifth place game at 8:30am, Alberta Green vs. Alberta Yellow for third place at 11:15am, and the championship game starting at 2:00pm.
